Wariness of political correctness and distrust of intellectuals has led to the proliferation of “post-truth” or “fake news”. That has made it more difficult to distinguish between the role of public diplomacy and outright propaganda. How the United States leverages its soft power could define Washington’s relations with key allies worldwide, including Japan. Join us for a discussion on the outlook for public diplomacy [JB emphasis] between Japan and the United States, and the challenges of political communications amid rapidly changing perspectives on national identity.

International students, scholars, and their families are assets to academic and scientific innovation, public diplomacy [JB emphasis], economic vitality, and national security. Russian culture was introduced at the public diplomacy [JB emphasis] festival in Jakarta, reports the Coordinating council of Russian Compatriots website. Indonesian Foreign Ministry organised the event.
Students from the school working at the Russian Embassy were on stage together with diplomats. Dances, Russian songs and vilolin music played by German Dmitriev were followed by Russian delicious food and hot tea. The night called success.
There's no official Russian Compatriots organisation in Indonesia but there are active social networks such as Russians in Indonesia,k Russians in Bali, etc. People share useful information, help each other, look and find jobs, organise cultural and educational events.

Yesterday, together with fellow diplomats from several EU countries, I took part in a special tour to the Naqab (Negev) during which we had a chance to visit a Bedouin unrecognized village and a recognized township where we discussed various ideas concerning Bedouin l women empowerment and engagement into local businesses, activism and politics. The Negev Coexistence Forum for Civil Equality and Adalah - The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, funded by the European Union, organized the tour.
