Baloni Gugla lete nad Šri Lankom

Šri Lanka bi  mogla postati prva zemlja na svetu u potpunosti pokrivena 4G mobilnim internetom. Ministar za telekomunikacije i digitalnu infrastrukturu Harin Fernando je izjavio na bezbednosnoj konferenciji ,,the Ground Zero’’ u Kolombu, glavnom gradu Šri Lanke da će Šri Lanka ,,biti prva zemlja na svetu čiji će svaki deo teritorije biti pokriven bežičnim internetom

Ministar za telekomunikacije i digitalnu infrastrukturu Harin Fernando je izjavio na bezbednosnoj konferenciji ,,the Ground Zero’’ u Kolombu, glavnom gradu Šri Lanke da će Šri Lanka ,,biti prva zemlja na svetu čiji će svaki deo teritorije biti pokriven bežičnim internetom ukoliko se Loon projekat  pokaže uspešnim’’.
Reč je o zajedničkom projektu države i kompanije Gugl, a ključni su baloni koji će na velikim visinama imati funkciju odašiljača i slati signal mobilnim telefonima. Baloni su napravljeni od najobičnije plastike i imaju elektroniku sličnu onome koji imaju i mobilni telefoni.

U Šri Lanki ima vise od 3 miliona korisnika moblinog interneta i 630 000 pretplatnika kućnog interneta.

Guglovi baloni imaju radijus od 40 km. Bice ih potrebno 13 da bi se signalom pokrilo celo ostrvo.

Šri Lanka je jedna od prvih  azijskih zemalja koja je uvela mobilnu telefoniju,3G i 4G mrežu. Direktor državne agencije za telekomunikacijske tehnologije je izjavio da će razvoj projekta podstaknuti inovacije.

Deo javnosti  zabrinut je što se američkom tehnološkom gigantu Guglu  dopušta upravljanje komunikacijskom mrežom u državnom vazdušnom prostoru. Takođe mnogi baloni su se izduvali zbog jakog vetra prilikom testiranja.

Projekat bi trebao biti okončan do kraja 2017. godine.
