Politics & Public Diplomacy [JB emphasis] in Contemporary Russia program This five-week summer program is designed to give participants new insights into the historical and cultural trends that shape today’s Russia. Through readings and intensive coursework in the form of lectures, seminars, and discussions conducted with faculty of Moscow International University, program participants gain a fuller understanding of the complex factors underlying politics and public diplomacy in Putin’s Russia. The program explores regional developments and conflict, economic and political reforms, the role of mass media, and new cultural phenomena. No foreign language is experience required. …
Students admitted to American Councils programs are eligible to apply for financial support from a wide range of sources, including the U.S. Department of State (Title VIII), U.S. Department of Education, Boren, FLAS, Gilman, and the American Councils Study Abroad
