The Edwin O. Reischauer Center for East Asian Studies would like to cordially invite you to attend a conference on Public Diplomacy [JB emphasis] in the Asia-Pacific. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Tomohiko Taniguchi, Professor at Keio University and Special Advisor to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. From 2005 to 2008 he served as Deputy Press Secretary and Deputy General for Public Diplomacy at the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In 2013 Dr. Taniguchi rejoined the government as a Counselor in the Japanese Cabinet Secretariat. In 2014 he became Special Advisor to the Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. In this role he assists the Prime Minister with strategic communications. His keynote address will be from 12:30 – 2:00.
